Jumpstart Automotive Media

jumpstart

Five years ago, two entrepreneurs in a home office with no capital approached Arizona Bay to build a unique web application targeting online car-buyers.

The technology we developed and maintained helped Jumpstart generate annual revenue of over $20 million and attract a $120 million purchase price. The Jumpstart founders partnered with Arizona Bay to create a referral system and advertising mechanism to target customers shopping for cars online. Arizona Bay in turn designed “Leadslinger” to process online customer leads for rapid response from local dealers. Leadslinger accepts leads from a variety of prominent sources, including Ford, iMotors, and Car & Driver. These partners automatically interact with the Leadslinger system by sending out requests for a particular vehicle in a specific zip code. Leadslinger checks its internal dealer network and wholesale partners to place the lead and then passes along customer information to the corresponding dealer.

Backed by our “Leadslinger” technology and IT support, Jumpstart recently sold to Hachette Filipacchi Media for $120 million.

Higgins Purchasing Group

Higgins Purchasing Group, an international leader in hotel procurement services with annual revenue of $150 million, approached Arizona Bay to help the company embrace new technology and streamline operations. The goal was to provide a single source for hotels to obtain and replenish luxury products for guests.

Arizona Bay built a new bulk procurement site, dubbed Boxport. Integrating HPG’s suite of products, programs, and services, the Boxport system customizes cost-efficient solutions to improve a hotel manager’s day-to-day operations. It also gives hotel guests a unique outlet to purchase items from their rooms. Clients now include Montage, Hyatt International, W Hotels, Ritz Carlton, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group North America.

Backed by Arizona Bay’s technology, the Higgins Group recently received a funding round at a $20 million valuation from a team of investors led by PFK Investors and David Pottruck, the former CEO of Charles Schwab.

Surgicount Medical

SurgiCount

A urologist wanted to address the perpetual surgery-room concern of leaving medical sponges inside patients after operations. He envisioned a software application that could scan and track surgical sponges – and turned to Arizona Bay to build the Safety Sponge™ System.

The SurgiCount Safety-Sponge™ System enables operating room staff to keep track of items commonly used in surgery. The bar-code system works much like a grocery store check-out counter. Every lap sponge, towel, or gauze sponge is thermally fused with a unique, patented bar code. Items are swiped under a scanning counter before the procedure to obtain an exact count. At the end of surgery, labels are re-swiped to verify the number of items. The sponge counter provides audio and visual cues, has a read-rate error of one-in-240-million scans, and runs reports at the end of each procedure.

Hospitals and surgery centers across the country are using the Safety Sponge™ System, and SurgiCount Medical now publicly trades on the AMEX as a subsidiary of Patient Safety Technologies (Amex: PST). The core technology developed by Arizona Bay was recently featured on the Discovery Channel.

SimulScribe

Simulscribe

The leader in the rapidly-growing industry of voicemail-to-text transcription and delivery, Simulscribe is a small company that needs to stay ahead of the curve to thrive. With Apple’s iPhone about to come to market promising “visual voicemail”, Simulscribe envisioned a more robust product for users to “browse” voicemail. The application needed to be rolled out quickly.

Arizona Bay stepped up to meet the challenge. In a matter of weeks, we developed SimulSays, the world’s first visual voicemail application for mobile handsets. The application was refined using Arizona Bay’s customer-acceptance and market-testing models. Our designers worked around the clock to assemble a robust package, integrating client feedback and overcoming technical hurdles in record time.

On the strength of Arizona Bay’s “Rapid Roadmap” development approach, SimulScribe met its deadline to beat Apple’s iPhone to market – and the SimulSays system earned rave reviews from clients and was awarded Best of Wireless Enterprise Symposium by Crackberry.com.

Innovative Air Quality

innovative air quality

A young entrepreneur recognized a market void: Due to increasing lawsuits over unsafe working environments, office buildings need a low cost system to certify their workspace air quality is clean. She turned to Arizona Bay to help develop her environmental technology business and build a cutting edge monitoring system.

Arizona Bay began by analyzing and improving the Company’s business strategy. Impressed by the potential of introducing a low cost product into a growing market dominated by expensive system, we also provided seed funding to help Innovative Air Quality grow efficiently and effectively.

Then our designers began to build a prototype from scratch, creating a full service package to offer real-time data analysis of a building’s air quality from 64 sensors. While the client had original envisioned a more rigid system, our team instead proposed an open-ended system that could incorporate add-on modules and monitor all sorts of hazardous elements. Innovate Air Quality now has a working application in the second stage of prototyping and stands poised to offer a unique low cost product for a rapidly growing market.
